A bold, muscular take on the classic Billiard shape, this Castello design features a plump, thick-walled bowl that stands at the fore of a lean stretch of shank and stem. The bowl boasts a plateau-crowned rim, which matches the shank's crisp rustication and adds an organic character to the overall composition. Like many of Castello's output, this piece displays a neoclassical silhouette, with the bowl garnering most of the visual weight within the composition, overshadowing the comparatively svelte shank and stem. A handsome orange stain dresses the stummel and highlights a fetching showing of flame grain around the smoothly polished bowl.
