Castello: Collection Fiammata Billiard (KK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5291
Founded in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's personal shaping approach to pipes helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. One of the highest honors a Castello pipe can receive is the "Fiammata" stamp. Only adorning a handful of pipes every year, Fiammata pipes showcase extraordinary briar grain.
This Billiard by Castello bears their esteemed "Fiamatta" stamp, and for good reason, as spectacular striations of flame grain wrap around the plump bowl and flow down the flanks of the thick shank. Additionally, the broad rim and flattened underside (making this pipe a Sitter) are dotted with swirling whorls of birdseye. The pronounced heel makes for a delightful in-hand feel, and the proportional shank-and-stem arrangement balances this pipe's weight, while its even taper lends compositional gravity to the bowl. Dressed in the vibrant auburn hues of the Collection smooth finish and featuring a jet-black acrylic stem, this pipe exudes traditional style.
