This Billiard from Castello boasts a military mount and push-style stem that enable the pipe to be broken down easily, even while still hot. The ivory color of the mount and stem complements the warm, honey-blond smooth finish that dresses the stummel and showcases handsome tendrils of flame grain climbing the flanks of the bowl. Shape-wise, this piece features a tall, stout bowl that rises at the front of the sleek, arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The low-set transition and tapering shank lend the bowl most of the composition's visual weight in typical Italian neoclassical style, and the firm, slightly pronounced heel offers a touch of muscularity to the overall composition.
