Castello: Old Antiquari Apple (KK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5570
Since their founding in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes has helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's personal shaping approach to pipes has helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. This Apple from Castello boasts a unique outline, one defined by an asymmetrical bowl and a sleek, arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl's pronounced lopsidedness is due to its wavy rim, which stands out starkly in relation to the more uniform and supple heel. A wide transition offers ample space to drape a digit and places further emphasis on the bowl, while the aforementioned shank-and-stem arrangement keeps the shape looking streamlined and balanced in profile. Dressing this piece is the Old Antiquari sandblast, which highlights handsome grain across the bowl and shank alike.
