Furthermore, Castello's personal shaping approach to pipes has helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. This Apple from Castello is a lithe interpretation of the classic form, possessing an incredibly slender shank-and-stem arrangement that supports a plump, gently tapered bowl. Said bowl is rich with curvature and boasts an arcing taper that begins at its wide, slightly pronounced heel and terminates at its taut rim. Dressing this piece is the warm Collection smooth finish, which highlights fine tendrils of flame grain along the bowl's flanks. The flame grain here is so tight and well-defined that Castello awarded this piece its Fiammata designation, reserved for pipes with exquisite flame grain.
