Castello: Collection Fiammata Bent Apple (KK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5633
From the mind of Italian artisan Carlo Scotti, Castello was founded in 1947 with the goal of offering handmade pipes that exude quality in both form and function. Working together with Luigi Radice and Peppino Ascorti, the three would serve as key innovators in defining Italian neoclassical pipe design. Plump and palm-filling, this bent Apple from Castello boasts a robust physique and supple curves, making for a pipe with an impeccably comfortable presence in hand. The bowl's rotund figure is formed by smooth, thick curving from the round, sweeping heel toward the flat rim. Lifting from the transition is a stocky, muscular shank that's joined to a stout, downturned stem, with the arrangement's posture granting a sense of fluidity to the composition. Furthermore, the pair also carry a gentle taper throughout, lending greater visual focus on the bowl for a bold, thoroughly Italian design. Castello's Collection finish dresses the stummel, its warm, glossy stain drawing out stunning vertical grain radiating from the bottom of the bowl. As such, this piece has earned the Italian marque's illustrious Fiammata appellation, a title designated to pipes with magnificent flame and straight grain.
