Castello: Trademark Canadian (G) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5700
Founded in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's approach to shaping helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. This piece offers up a bold Italian neoclassical take on the traditional Canadian that features a tall, robust Billiard bowl with a firm, slightly protruding heel. It's paired to an extended oval shank that tapers ever so slightly toward its abbreviated stem, serving to further place the visual weight of the piece on its hearty bowl. The "G" stamp is one of the workshop's largest size designations, denoting pieces on par with house pipes in their increased bowl height and chamber depth, and this piece certainly delivers in those areas. Dressed in a glossy, auburn stain, the stummel offers an array of windswept grain and birdseye.
