Castello: Trademark Bent Egg (KKKK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5714
Founded in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's approach to shaping helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. This bent Egg is a hearty, robust pipe, though it packs all of its substance into a fairly compact package, measuring in at just under five inches long. The transition is wide and gives way to a rather short shank that lifts sharply and tapers to meet a similarly tapering stem of pale white acrylic, the combination poising this pipe for comfortable smoking and lending the silhouette an expressively dynamic verticality. The bowl stands on a rounded heel and grows thick, supple walls that curve up to a flat rim, making for a comfortable feel in hand and offering a capacious chamber for extended smoking sessions. Dressed in Castello's Trademark finish, the stummel features a craggy partial rustication and dark stain through the shank, while the smooth, auburn-hued bowl showcases handsome grain.
