Castello: 'Castello' Billiard (KKKK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5717
Founded in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's approach to shaping helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. A stout pipe with plenty of substance in hand, this Billiard boasts a robust bowl with ample surface area for the fingers to wrap around. A wide transition leaves space to drape a digit and starts the gradual taper of the shank, paired here to a jet-black acrylic stem that continues the shank's taper. The bowl sits atop a rounded heel, and the walls that grow out of this heel take on their own gentle taper to the rim. This pipe is dressed in the rich, warm tones of the brand's eponymous finish, showcasing windswept grain across the flanks of the bowl.
