Since their founding in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello has handcrafted high-quality pipes and helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's personal shaping approach to pipes has helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. This Apple by Castello is a striking composition that deftly showcases the aforementioned Italian neoclassical style, presenting with a plump, full-bodied bowl that overshadows a comparatively slender and gently tapered shank-and-stem arrangement. Said bowl is rich with curvature, its supple walls rising in an arcing taper from heel to rim and taking on a Ball-like appearance. The gorgeous honey-blonde Collection finish dresses the stummel and highlights tight streaks of flame grain across the bowl, with the flame grain so immaculate that Castello awarded this piece their Fiammata designation.
