Castello: Old Antiquari Bent Pot (Big Line) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5747
Since their founding in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello has handcrafted high-quality pipes and helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's personal shaping approach to pipes has helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. Part of Castello's Big Line, this bent Pot is a sizable rendition of the classic form, offering a muscular build, over six and a half inches in length, and a bowl over two inches tall. Said bowl is broad and brawny, its thick, insulating walls rising from a slightly bulging heel to a flat rim. A sturdy shank-and-stem arrangement brings up the pipe's rear and tapers from the transition to the bit, slenderizing the composition's aft side and placing further emphasis on the large bowl. Dressing this piece is the Old Antiquari sandblast, which sees the lower bowl and shank dressed in an auburn stain and the upper bowl and rim dressed in a dark hue.
