Castello: 'Castello' Bent Billiard (KKKK) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5792
Founded in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello's commitment to handcrafting high-quality pipes helped elevate the reputation of Italian pipes to luxury status. Furthermore, Castello's approach to shaping helped cultivate the bowl-centric and whimsical Italian neoclassic aesthetic. This bent Billiard is a sleek and comparatively lightweight piece, fitting in well with Castello's iconic style as the bowl's robust stature pulls the eye to the fore with ease. A rounded heel supports said bowl, its walls expanding to a low-set waist before making a subdued, curving taper to the flat rim. At nearly two inches tall, this bowl offers a robust substance in hand, its subtle contours keeping it comfortable while the walls surround a capacious chamber. The transition is wide, and it gives way to a broad, ovoid shank that tapers toward a similarly tapering stem of demurely curved black acrylic, the easy arc slightly softening the muscular look of this piece. Dressed in the Italian workshop's eponymous finish, this pipe wears a dark, rich stain and showcases handsome grain throughout.
