Castello: Collection Smeralda Paneled Billiard (26.120) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-386-5821
Founded in 1947 by Carlo Scotti, Castello quickly became one of the first Italian brands to break away from traditional English and French pipe designs, helping to establish the Italian neoclassical style. Castello, meaning "castle" in Italian, is known for its commitment to high-quality, handmade pipes. In the 1960s Castello partnered with Radice and Ascorti, further elevating the status of Italian pipes as luxury items. With a focus on innovative shaping and bowl-centric, whimsical designs, Castello remains a staple in Italian pipe making.
This Billiard from Castello, part of a limited-edition series inspired by the renowned Smeralda emerald, reimagines the classic shape in the bold, neoclassic style. The tall, commanding bowl stands over two inches, formed by crisp panels that lend it a distinctive, geometric profile. A slender shank emerges from the bowl, accentuating the bowl's towering stature, and leading to a striking emerald-hued accent. Completing the design is a sleek saddle stem of black acrylic. The stummel is dressed in a smooth, walnut-hued finish that highlights an abundance of lovely birdseye along both flanks of the bowl.
