Sinuously bent and voluptuous in hand, this bent Egg from Castello features dramatic, Italian-style proportions, with the full-bodied bowl and pointed heel maintaining the form's visual weight. Countered by a trim, nearly vertical stretch of lithe shank and stem, the neoclassic charm of this piece is quite pronounced. It's topped by a jet-black military mount that's gently downturned for a comfortable jaw-hanging posture and is able to be broken down for convenience, even when hot. The stummel is dressed in a warm auburn stain, highlighting a wealth of swirling birdseye on one flank of the bowl and streaks of flame grain on the other.
