Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin with Silver (CCC)

Product Number: 002-400-1589

The cool tone of bright sterling silver makes for a pleasing contrast when paired to a light, golden finish, which may be why Claudio tends to reserve it for his "C" grade briars. Outside of these, silver on a Cavicchi is fairly rare, with various exotic woods being favored for accents; about two-thirds of all the silver-accented pipes we've seen from Claudio have been in the "C" grades. This particular silver-mounted "CCC" is an example of Claudio's more freehand-ish shaping, being a Dublin of modest height and great breadth, the extra width used mainly to show off plateau up top and a great deal of fine flame all around.
