Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin (CCC)

Product Number: 002-400-1725

Claudio Cavicchi is well known for coaxing the finest grain possible from a block of briar, and though the Dublin is among the most natural shapes for accommodating the grain radiating from the center of the burl, it's still no easy task to orient it correctly for a fine palette of grain such as seen here. Flame grain bordering on straight grain surrounds the bowl and drapes down the sides of the shank, with diverting birdseye at the rim, heel and upper and lower lengths of shank, all terminated in a low-profile saddle bit. The shank itself is slightly cinched at the transition, lending even more perceived mass to the already large bowl.
