Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Sandblasted Bent Dublin
Product Number: 002-400-1850
A squat rendition of the bent Dublin, this piece from Claudio Cavicchi sacrifices height for the sake of a broad rim and thick insulating walls about the chamber. In hand, it offers the substantial presence of a Pot yet with a softer, rounded heel and taper toward the rim. Though not as tall as some of Cavicchi's other Dublins, it still showcases the Italian carver's conventional use of Italian neoclassic proportions — the bowl remaining heavy-set and muscular and the shank and stem combination tapering consistently out back for a more diminutive presence. It's all dressed in one of Claudio's dynamic and expressive sandblasts, proving exactly why he's so renowned for his finishes.-Truett Smith
