The Bulldog isn't an oft-seen design from Claudio Cavicchi, at least not compared to his renditions of other shape chart standards. Furthermore, this particular piece is shaped quite classically, forgoing Claudio's typical style of bowl-centric, Italian neoclassic design cues. That said, it still fits into his bold aesthetic, and while adhering closely to English shaping standards of the form, this piece aligns with hearty Group 6 size. Dressed in Cavicchi's dark chestnut stain for subtly intriguing grain definition, it's a welcomed example of the artisan's deft fluency in numerous artistic styles.
