Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin (CCCCC)
Product Number: 002-400-2280
Carrying Claudio Cavicchi's heralded "CCCCC" stamp, this Dublin features an Italian neoclassical bowl of proportionately large dimensions in an oval orientation in line with that of the shank. A lifting heel emphasizes the heel spur beneath the transition, which helps the shank's impression of an independent element protruding from the near flank as it contracts in diameter and then expands as it reaches toward the saddle mouthpiece. The rim is wide, signalling the thick insulating walls of the tobacco chamber, and its undulating surface is texturally enhanced by tight knobs of plateau. Well balanced and a pleasure to grip, as well as endowed with astonishing vertical grain, this piece is a testament to the skills of a carver renowned for his ability to portray stunning grain to its finest potential.- Chuck Stanion
