Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin (CCC)

Product Number: 002-400-2317

A bold, neoclassic take on the bent Dublin shape, this interpretation shows how Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi stays loyal to the beauty in the briar more than to the standard pipe chart. The discretely flaring bowl is shorter and broader than, say, an ultra-classic English rendition, making me think of a Pot. The substantial, inflated rim provides plenty of surface area to display birdseye, as does the palm-filling heel. However, this CCC-grade pipe's standout feature is the stunning flame grain that leaps in tight striations up the flanks of the bowl and shank. The round shank stretches out back, straight, but leading to a very slightly downturned saddle stem to make this a bent pipe.
