Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Sandblasted Rhodesian with Spalted Beechwood
Product Number: 002-400-2614
Try as I might, I can't find any examples of Rhodesians like this from Claudio Cavicchi in our archives, making this particular iteration a truly special one. A very lithe piece, this pipe presents with an arrow straight shank and stem, the latter married to a flared piece of spalted beechwood at the shank that meshes with a stem base of the same material, the acrylic flaring near the bit to create a kind of stepped construction with a unique look. The bowl stands firm and tall atop a sharp, pronounced heel, rising into the sky with a gradual flare which terminates at a single beadline that denotes a taper to the rim. The brown sandblast that dresses the stummel is warm and inviting, and the smooth rim and beechwood contrast the texture and color handsomely.-John McElheny
