Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Smooth Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-400-2631
A bent Dublin with some Acorn-like qualities, this piece from Claudio Cavicchi also showcases the Italian artisan's firm grasp on the Neoclassical aesthetic quite well, with a great deal of emphasis put on the bowl's form and size. Said bowl towers at over two inches in height, with a chamber capacity large enough to offer lengthy, relaxing smokes, all while its thick walls keep the hand comfortable. The heel this bowl sits upon dips down at its lowest point, much the same way the Acorn shape does, and flares gently into the walls, whose fore side sweeps upward to the softly inflated rim. The shank here is extended, with a bit of a pinch toward its midsection, just after the transition, and flares as it travels to the end which is adorned with a trim ring of white acrylic, contrasting the jet black saddle stem and warm chestnut stain of the stummel. Said stain additionally reveals some lovely, dense flame grain around the sides of the bowl, with equally dense swathes of birdseye peppering the rim and top of the shank.
