Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Smooth Bent Egg
Product Number: 002-400-2637
While this bent Egg still embodies the robust proportions and hearty Italian neoclassic style often found in Claudio Cavicchi's work, it's a considerably more compact rendition thanks to its tight-knit S-curve. Such a sinuous profile highlights the Egg bowl's supple curvature, the arcing nature of the heel beautifully grounding the shape as the shank curls upward and the bowl's fore rounds inward slightly toward the rim. It's a soft design, resting perfectly in hand, but one that's not without a strong sense of muscularity, the proportions of the bowl and shank quite stout. It's all dressed in Cavicchi's dark, chestnut contrast stain for a more reserved appreciation of the briar's grain, and the considerable bend combined with the compact shaping make this a pipe perfect for on-the-go, hands-free enjoyment.-Truett Smith
