A Freehand interpretation of the bent Brandy, this piece from Claudio Cavicchi features a bowl that tapers toward the rim, but it's markedly different than the classic, shape-chart version of the design. For one, the bowl urges forward with dynamic momentum, continuing the trajectory initiated by the stem's downward turn. Secondly, a subtle spur sits below the transition, pointed back toward the shank to reinforce the composition's forward-rushing aesthetic. A trim accent of olivewood adorns the shank end, domed at the face to match the base of the stem, and the stummel wears a conservative, mahogany stain for a traditional color palette that still highlights the briar's stunning grain.
