A charming rendition of the Tomato shape, this piece from Claudio Cavicchi features an inflated bowl with a high-set waistline and a sharply defined heel protrusion. This piece most readily brings to mind an Acorn, but the aforementioned waistline and the more subtle taper keep it more ambiguous. The bowl is paired to a gently bent shank-and-stem arrangement that offers a touch of sinuosity to the composition as well as a comfortable smoking posture. One of Cavicchi's vibrant, honey-hued smooth finish dresses the stummel and showcases a wealth of streaking flame grain on all side of the bowl, making it clear why this piece earned three "C" stamps out of a possible five.
