A voluptous, full-bodied Billiard with a sweeping heel and a high-kicking shank-and-stem arrangement, this "CCCC" piece from Claudio Cavicchi is a handsome rendition of the shape-chart standard. As is the case with a great deal of Italian briars, the bowl here holds most of the visual weight within the composition, overshadowing the leaner shank and stem out back. The upscaled proportions of the bowl offer a broad canvas to display the fine streaks of flame grain that flow from the plump heel to the rim, all covered in Cavicchi's signature honey-hued smooth finish.
