An esteemed pipe maker with over 50 years of experience, Claudio Cavicchi crafts beautiful pieces with a finesse and eye for detail that only comes after years of working with briar. This bent Billiard is a fine example of his style and technical acumen, presenting a tall, upright bowl that rises at the fore of an upturned shank and a demurely curved mouthpiece. The bowl tapers subtly from its wide, plump heel to its tauter rim, giving the form an almost Brandy-like appearance in profile. The shank-and-stem arrangement provides balance to the bowl and keeps the overall shape rather gestural. Boasting a full five "C" stamps, denoting exceptional craftsmanship and grain, this piece is dressed in a handsome honey-blonde finish that highlights some truly dazzling birdseye across the bowl's flanks.
