Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Pot with Bamboo (CCC) Tobacco Pipe

Typically, Claudio Cavicchi forgoes accenting materials, preferring to allow the shaping and the briar's natural grain to speak for themselves, but the Italian artisan has extended the shank of this bent Pot design with two knuckles of warm bamboo, providing a touch of organcisim to the composition. The natural hues of the bamboo blend quite well with the honeyed smooth finish that dresses the stummel. Said finish nicely highlights sweeping flame grain as it rises in concert with the bowl's flare to the plateau-crowned rim. It's an overall handsome design that earns all three of its "C" stamps, denoting a pipe of exceptional shaping and grain.
