A shape with some wonderfully plump, comfort-pipe proportions, the Author is here given some Italian neoclassical style in this rendition from Claudio Cavicchi. With thick chamber walls and a charmingly chubby, well-rounded form that puts emphasis on the bowl of the piece, it's a shape that's easy to get comfortable with in your favorite chair. The shank here is worth mentioning as well, as its hearty build and slight upturn are hallmarks of the shape, and something which Cavicchi has paid a great deal of attention to, as he has truly captured the gentle flow of line that makes this profile look so soft. Graded at four "C's" out of a possible five, it's no surprise to see this Author displaying beautiful grain, with straight and flame grain striations wrapping the bowl and dense birdseye on the underside.
