Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Sandblasted Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-400-2920
A handsome offering from Claudio Cavicchi, this tall bent Dublin features a flaring, undulating rim atop a Pickaxe-like pointed heel spur, the latter a rather whimsical shaping cue from the Italian carver. The transition here is set quite low on the bowl, right above the spurred heel, marking the start of the round, elongated shank whose upward-flicking trajectory leads the eye immediately toward the spur, making it a focal point. As this shank reaches upward, we see it meet a trim, demurely curved saddle stem of jet-black acrylic which lends the pipe a comfortable smoking posture and slightly slenderizes the the aft portion of this piece. Dressed in a warm, auburn hued sandblast which reveals a stunning cross grain orientation with birdseye awash at the bowl's fore, this pipe also houses plenty of chamber depth.
