A truly striking rendition of the bent Apple shape, this piece from Claudio Cavicchi features a supple bowl that's paired to an upturned shank and a demurely curved saddle stem. The stummel rises from a craggy ridge of plateau, which covers the underside of the design and lends an organic character to the overall composition. The plateau provides plenty of stimulating texture for the fingers to explore, its rugged surface contrasting against the rest of stummel's smooth finish. Cavicchi's honeyed smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights fine tendrils of flame grain about the bowl.
