Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin (CCCC) Tobacco Pipe

A hearty, forward-urging bent Dublin from Claudio Cavicchi, this piece features a classically inclined, yet robust bowl with a distinctive flare from a sweeping heel toward a plateau-crowned rim. The bowl dominates the visual focus here, the neoclassic proportions dramatized, with the more slender, gradually tapering shank and stem stretching out rather lengthily. Four "C" stamps are assigned to this pipe by the carver, and the fine, wispy licks of flame grain engulfing the bowl are highlighted by a fetching honey-blonde stain. Additionally, clusters of vivid birdseye decorate the underside, and speckles of birdseye peek through rim's plateau, this pipe's grain well deserving of its coveted grade.
