Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Smooth Bent Billiard Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-400-2982
I'm ceaselessly impressed by the work of Claudio Cavicchi, as every time I look at his work I can't help but see the exacting standards he holds himself to, and the perfectionism with which he approaches each of his pipes. This bent Billiard, too, showcases his uncanny ability to vary shapes, as it's not too often we see a bent Billiard with this demureness of curve. The transition is wide, angling the shank upward just a touch so that it ebbs into the soft arc of the stem with a refined kind of poise. The bowl itself is tall, hearty, and features a low-set, slightly bulging waistline that allows the fingers to index quite easily, as well as a very gentle taper to its rim, something pushed into prominence by way of its bold, rounded heel. The stummel here has been dressed in one of Cavicchi's warm brown stains, and showcases a wealth of flickering flame grain wrapping around the bowl and through the flanks of the extended shank, with the top and underside peppered by dense birdseye.
