Stocky and muscular, this bent Dublin from Claudio Cavichhi showcases the Italian pipe maker's penchant for dramatic proportions and eye-catching finishes. The flaring bowl here holds most of the visual weight within the composition, its sheer size overshadowing the comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement that trails out back. A touch of whimsical shaping takes the form of a jutting, spur-like protrusion on the underside of the shank, near the transition, which adds a touch of angularity to the composition. It's all dressed in one of Cavicchi's dazzling honey-hued smooth finishes, showcasing fine strands of flame grain on either flank of the bowl and earning three "C" stamps out of five.
