Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin (CCCC) Tobacco Pipe

Displaying the slightest of bends to the abbreviated saddle stem, this Dublin from Claudio Cavicchi boasts many conventions to appreciate. The thick-walled, stocky bowl brings to mind the Pot shape and is firm of heel, with the gently wavy rim crowned in plateau. It's dressed in one of the Italian carver's rich, honey-blonde stains and has been assigned four "C" stamps, attesting to exceptional craftsmanship and stellar grain, which is exemplified here. Fine, wispy licks of flame grain can be seen across the entire stummel, further evidence that when it comes to shaping the briar to best maximize its grain, Cavicchi is among the best.
