Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin (CCCC) Tobacco Pipe

Claudio Cavicchi has earned a reputation since the 1970s as a master of pipe carving and one of the chief artisans working in the Italian neoclassic style. This "CCCC" grade Dublin is a fine example of such style, also displaying the particularly excellent briar Cavicchi is known for. The undulating rim and canted bowl rest with a dynamic presence on a strong heel, paired to a consistently tapering, ovoid shank for a forward-urging silhouette. A just-bent acrylic stem brings up the rear, its jet-black color accentuating the honey-blonde stain on the stummel. The light-hued finish highlighs the excellent straight and flame grain around the bowl, not to mention the swirling birdseye at the rim.
