This bent Dublin from Italian maker Claudio Cavicchi displays bold neoclassical proportions with a flaring, spur-heeled bowl dominating the composition. Brilliant flame grain rises in concert with the bowl's shaping, erupting in a dense array of plateau all across the broad rim. A light honey-blond stain and smooth finish illuminate the superb grain without causing distraction, and are contrasted nicely by the jet-black acrylic saddle stem. A fine briar with a dramatic yet sleek aesthetic, this piece has earned four out of a possible five of Cavicchi's coveted "C" stamps.
