Arrow-straight with firm, sharp lines, and a full, proud bowl – Claudio Cavicchi has presented us with a Bulldog that wonderfully accentuates the masculine qualities of the classic shape. The ridges which surround the shank and lend it its diamond shape are wonderfully crisp and the shank itself takes on a consistent taper from the wide transition through to the button, itself and the stem supporting a robust bowl up front. Besides the expertly executed shaping, this exemplary briar from Cavicchi is a "CCCC" grade, and is handsomely dressed in a warm, honey-blonde stain to emphasize the lively flame grain below the beadlines that wrap around the bowl's high-set waistline. Absolutely fantastic work from the practiced hands of one of Italy's finest artisans.
