Claudio Cavicchi often forgoes utilizing alternative mediums as accenting materials on his pipes, allowing the superlative grain and expert engineering of each piece to stand out. On this Billiard the Italian artisan has implemented bamboo not only as an accent but to extend the shank's length before meeting the sleek saddle stem out back. The medium's pale color stands out in stark contrast against the jet-black acrylic mouthpiece, but beautifully complements the stummel's light, honey-blonde stain. The bowl displays some additional mass at its base, with the smooth, low-set transition accentuating the bowl's height while the comparatively trimmer shank-and-stem combination thrusts the visual weight toward the bowl. Having earned a "CCCC" grade stamp, the bowl's cross-cut pattern leaves plenty of flame grain to admire along the bowl's flanks.
