A bold, Italian neoclassical rendition of the bent Apple, this piece from Claudio Cavicchi features a broad bowl with the expansive flanks and domed rim of a Tomato. Said bowl, with its stocky build and gentle curves, holds most of the visual weight within the composition, overshadowing the slender shank-and-stem arrangement that reaches out back. Cavicchi's signature Black sandblast dresses the stummel and unveils ripping waves of grain across the surface of the bowl, offering plenty of textural and visual intrigue to entice the hands and the eyes.
