Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Smooth Lumberman Tobacco Pipe

This Lumberman from Claudio Cavicchi features a tall, stocky bowl that rises proudly at the fore of an oval shank and an abbreviated saddle stem of jet-black acrylic. In typical Italian neoclassical style, the bowl holds most of the visual weight within the composition, overshadowing the sleek, minimalist lines of the shank and stem. That being said, the shank's strikingly extended length here does well to balance some of the bowl's visual weight, its build extending the length of this pipe to more than six and a half inches. The bowl houses a good bit of chamber, and it is perfectly shaped to accommodate wrapping fingers. One of Cavicchi's warm, mahogany-hued stains dresses the stummel and coaxes out a wealth of wrapping flame grain across the surfaces of the bowl, while the top and bottom of the stummel showcase dense clusters of birdseye.
