Sleek, straight pieces like this Dublin might not be the first pieces to come to mind when one thinks of Claudio Cavicchi's work, but his skill with a simple classic can't be understated. Claudio's Dublin renditions can range from the undeniably fanning, broad interpretations to those that are decidedly more trim in comparison, like this particular example. A round shank is paired to an elegantly tapering stem, and here the Italian carver has paired that configuration with a proudly poised Dublin bowl, which commands much of the piece's visual weight. The bowl features a mesmerizing display of excellent grain, highlighted in one of Cavicchi's gorgeous honey-blonde stains. Certainly a piece that's worthy of four "C" stamps from the revered artisan.
