Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Freehand with Spalted Beechwood (CCCC) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-400-3206
In a sort of Dublin meets Acorn amalgamation, this smooth Freehand from Claudio Cavicci features a tall, flaring bowl that's full-bodied in the hand thanks to its striking wrapping of ridgelines: The ridges here descend down both flanks and come together at the heel, affecting a sort of angular spur while rounding the fore of the rim. In back, the far more trim shank and sleek stem are separated by a handsome accent band of spalted beechwood, the pale hardwood with its black and beige coloring pairing remarkably well with both the honey-blonde stain of the stummel and slightly downturned jet-black acrylic stem. Additionally, the four "C" stamps grading this Freehand are well earned, with lovely licks of flame grain riding all flanks, while pinpricks of beautiful birdseye dot the rim.
