One of the more streamlined Cavicchi designs I've ever encountered, this Apple deftly demonstrates the Italian artisan's immense talent for rendering classic shapes and ability to create pieces with breathtaking grain. The bowl is affably plump and well-rounded with the shank-and-stem combination continuing with a subtle bend behind and emphasizing the bowl's visual presence. That said, this is still a rather balanced design for Cavicchi who often favors large bowls that command attention, with the tapered stem on this piece allowing for a seamlessly cohesive profile. Dressed in one of Claudio's rich mahogany finishes, this piece showcases lovely grain throughout, with tight flame grain all around the bowl, paired to dense birdseye at the rim and heel.
