Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Smooth Lovat Tobacco Pipe

Claudio Cavicchi's most well known and, arguably, most well regarded pipes are those that possess his coveted "C" stamps and are dressed in his signature honeyed blonde stain. The pipes from his Brown series are still nothing to scoff at, as even these present with some of the most enchanting grain and well developed shaping in the pipe world, they simply come in at a lower price point and feature a dark chestnut stain. This smooth Brown Lovat features a muscular composition, with a stout, tall bowl balancing on the end of a relatively svelte shank, the transition turning upward at a near 90 degree angle. The heel is likewise angular, and the bowl that rests upon it rises proudly, taking on the slightest bit of Dublin-like flare before reaching the flat rim which overlooks a fairly generous chamber. The highlight, of course, is the grain, with both flanks displaying dense streaks of flame grain, while the rim is peppered with birdseye.
