Claudio Cavicchi has earned a reputation since the 1970s as a master of pipe carving and one of the chief artisans working in the Italian neoclassic style. This "CCCC" grade bent Dublin is a fine example of such style, also displaying the particularly excellent briar Cavicchi is known for. Up front, a tall, broadly flaring bowl rests on a softened heel, crowned with a broad, plateau rim. Out back, a pinched transition gives way to a sleek round shank that showcases a second plateau section at its junction to a comfortably bent saddle stem of black acrylic. Dressed in Cavicchi's signature honey-blonde finish, the stummel boasts impressive flame grain all around the bowl.
