Claudio Cavicchi: Smooth Bent Dublin (CCCCC) Tobacco Pipe
Product Number: 002-400-3373
Claudio Cavicchi is a legendary Italian pipe maker with decades of experience and a portfolio of stunning designs. Cavicchi is known to be meticulous about his work, and he's developed a grading system by which to measure his pipes. Most of his work is graded out of five "C" stamps: the more "C" stamps, the higher quality Cavicchi deems the work, both in terms of shaping and grain. This CCCCC-graded bent Dublin is one of Cavicchi's finest offerings, and it showcases his granular eye for detail and exceptional craftsmanship. Shape-wise, this piece pairs a tall, thick-walled bowl to an upturned shank and a demurely curved saddle stem. Said bowl flares from its plump, rounded heel to its broad, flat rim, which encircles a chamber of considerable depth and breadth. The languid curvature of the shank and stem adds a good deal of gesture to the shape's silhouette and promotes a comfortable smoking posture from which to enjoy the aforementioned tobacco chamber. It's all handsomely presented in a warm auburn smooth finish that highlights gorgeous strands of flame grain across the bowl's walls.
