Claudio Cavicchi's career in pipe making is characterized by his penchant for perfection. One day, after months of waiting for a pipe he ordered, Cavicchi decided to take a shot at making the pipe himself, resulting in a piece that was exactly what he wanted. He took up pipe-making full-time after retiring from his farming career, and he would go on to gain a reputation for his precise eye for detail. Fitting snugly in hand, this Apple from Cavicchi features a plump, rotund bowl at the fore of its composition, with supple walls curving from heel to rim. Out back is a short, muscular shank and a saddle stem joined together to create a compact profile. Cavicchi's smooth Brown finish dresses the stummel in a rich stain that displays windswept vertical grain across the bowl and pepperings of birdseye on the rim and underside.
