Claudio Cavicchi: Brown Smooth Horn with Spalted Beechwood Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-400-3485

Claudio Cavicchi's career in pipe making is characterized by his penchant for perfection. One day, after months of waiting for a pipe he ordered, Cavicchi decided to take a shot at making the pipe himself, resulting in a piece that was exactly what he wanted. He took up pipe-making full-time after retiring from his farming career, and he would go on to gain a reputation for his precise eye for detail. A bold, expressive rendition, this Horn from Cavicchi is an exceptionally dynamic piece. The bowl stands with an eager forward cant, with thick walls flaring high from the sweeping heel toward the plateau-crowned rim. Adorned with a broad, beechwood accent, the shank seamlessly transitions from the bowl and joins to a subtly bent, tapered stem to form a graceful silhouette. The stummel wears a rich stain courtesy of Cavicchi's smooth Brown finish, which highlights stunning vertical grain sweeping across the vast expanse of the bowl.
