Claudio Cavicchi is a skilled pipe maker with over 50 years of experience, known for his remarkable ability to highlight the intricate grain of each block of briar, transforming it into stunning pieces. An Italian take on the classic Scandinavian shape, this Elephant's Foot features a full-bodied bowl at the fore of a slender shank-and-stem arrangement. Flanked by crisp panels, the walls of the bowl contour well to the hand, flaring out from a pronounced, sweeping heel to a flat rim. A low-set shank marries the bowl and pairs to a demurely bent acrylic stem at a pale accent band of spalted beechwood. The inky hue of the stem adds a nice contrast to the stummel's smooth walnut finish, which hghilights swirls of birdseye along the face of the bowl.
